My sister is 62 and is very yellow and Jaundice. the doctors have found that here pancreas is extended in the lower bile duct and pancreas area. She is steadily loosing weight. Very exhausted. She has to wait until next Thursday to get to specialist. Is there a danger of waiting a whole week?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Dear thanks for asking here.
Since the cause of jaundice is ruled out that is obstruction due to pancreas. So She might need some surgical intervention to treat and for this she needs to visit especialist .If there is some emergency like if she faints,or some other symptoms happen then she may need to go to the emergency hospital immediatly.Otherwise she may wait for especialist consultation.
Best regards,
Dr.Maheshwari
