How Can Joint Space Narrowing Of The Knees Be Treated?

My Mother (71 years old) feels a lot of nerve pulling sensations in both her knees. She had an X-ray which says that the space between the joints have diminished. She finds it very difficult to walk without support of walking stick or walker. I want a very good doctor. Please help.
