How Can Keratosis On The Soles Of The Feet Be Treated?

I have been taking acitretin for Darier s for four weeks now. The soles of my feet are so tender I can hardly walk. The skin has peeled the keratosis and fresh skin is showing but is is very painful when walking and applying pressure to my heals. The doctor says my body will adjust but it has been a week. Any suggestions of what to do?
