Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My knee pops whenever I straighten it. It causes discomfort when I ride / drive in the car, curl up to sleep at night, or climb stairs. Anytime my knee goes from bent to straight, it pops and is extremely uncomfortable. I m 21 years old, 115 pounds, and no major injuries anywhere near the area or ever for that matter. Why is this happening?
Hi Relocation- The doctor will move your lower leg back into position, a process called reduction. Most doctors will do reduction after a person has been given pain medication where the patient is sedated enough to withstand the discomfort of relocation but not completely sedated. Relocation is an important early step in repairing damage to nerves, blood vessels, ligaments, and other tissues of the knee. Relocation is usually done by emergency and orthopedic doctors. Immobilization - To keep further injury from happening and to help with the beginning of healing, the entire knee joint will be kept in a splint or immobilizer. This will keep the knee from bending and help the tissues to start healing Thank you.
