How Can Knee Injury With Bruising Caused By Exercise Be Treated?

i am 18, 5.9, 170lbs, with no medical history. i have been working out for a year and a bit now, and have been working out my legs for all that time but about a month ago i had a bruise on the top of my knee from doing squats. i have been working out my legs every week since then but as of the last couple days the top of my knee has been bothering me. i cannot work my legs as good as i was able to.
