How Can Knee Pain Be Treated?

Hi I have had knee pain of about 2-4 on the pain scale for about 4 weeks. The pain is worse after exercise and does not hurt while I am exercising. The pain seems to be right below the knee on the left side. I took Aleve for a week with relief but as soon as I did something pain returned. The pain started while I was running. I am not a gym rat and not overly fit. Running was new for me. I am 57 female. Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your problem can be due to bursitis most likely. Using a knee cap is good. Resting for a short period from physical activities is also recommended. You can apply ice packs locally. Applying diclofenac is also good.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nishad BN
