How Can Laryngitis Be Treated?

I am 57 years old, very healthy. I lost my 28 yr old son on June 1st in a fatal motorcycle accident. I came down with a sore throat and summer cold the 1st of July and developed laryngitis. I do believe I strained my voice do to my job and events, my voice is better but not but definitely not normal. What should I do?

I am very sorry re the death of your son.

Persisting laryngitis can be due to different factors such as voice overuse, smoking, post nasal drip, severe reflux, persisting infection.
Post nasal drip is common and 1 out of 5 persons with the drip are not aware of the drip itself.

You may want to consider a course of anti histamine/decongestants to see if this helps.
This is over the counter medication

If there is a history of severe reflux, this should also be addressed.
