How Can Laryngitis Be Treated?

one of my friend has very severe flu some three years back which last for three months. He is about 55 years and now his speaking power is not good and it break. what can he do as he is the poor person and not going to dr. as he is very much scared that the dr. might suggest for operation and my sound box may not disturb so much.

Hi,

As per your query you have laryngitis which is because throat infection has spread backwards and leads to inflammation in lingual tonsils. Need not to worry about it.

I would suggest to:-
- Do warm saline rinses several times a day.
- Maintain proper oral hygiene.
- Avoid oily and fried food and cold carbonated beverages.
- Take advil for pain and swelling and take a combination of antibiotic.

If symptoms keep on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get a complete examination done and start treatment accordingly.
