How Can Lice Infestation On The Head Be Treated?

My granddaughter has had lice for over 8 mnths. Whenever she comes over we soak her head with olive oil and put a shower cap on her. I clean like crazy and all her stuff has been sacked up since she first got it. We have not caught it, thank goodness. My question is, is there anything else I can do while she is here? Her other grandparents just dont seem to care and we have no say so about anything. She is 8 years old.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Lice infestation needs to be treated with anti-louse shampoo and maintaining hygiene. Lice infestation does not clear by using anti-lice treatment just once, but a regular use is required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
