How Can Liver Cirrhosis Be Managed?

Hi my names Lisa i have cirrhosis of the liver after hep c treatment, i had three treatments third finally worked but got cirrhosis after first one , well i got a real bad bruise a while back and its still super itchy now so i was wondering what your prognosis may be,, and it is also still kinda hard on the spot was a pretty big bruise went purple black n blue and swoll so i was wondering should i worry? Thank you

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Unfortunately Liver Cirrhosis is largely irreversible.
There is no standard therapy for it except maybe organ transplant.
So I am sorry to tel you that not much can be done about the damage done.
The only thing we can do is to be careful and avoid things in future that affect liver.
As for the bruise- the colour changes and swelling you mentioned is the normal cycle of any bruise.
However, bruise should not form easily.
Test a PT/INR if the trauma was not significant.
