How Can Liver Hemangioma Be Treated?

I was told some 30 years ago that I have a cluster of blood vessels on my liver. My doctor then told me that I could go my whole life and nothing may happen. However, she said a blood vessel could burst and I could bleed to death. I was told recently that I may be having problems with my liver because my metabolism is working very slowly. Do you know anything about that or if there s something I need to do. I was told to get my liver or my kidneys checked.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Hemangioma is an abnormal development of blood vessels. As your doctor, I advise that your kidney should be checked. A hepatologist's opinion should be taken.

You have provided correct information, it may remain asymptomatic life long or it may break and bleeding can occur.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
