How Can Loss Of Smell And Taste Be Treated?

one month ag I began to notice a loss of the sense of smell and taste , then in the last 10 days I have a sometimes strong sense of a perfume type smell and taste for no reason , but can not smell rubbing alcohol , onions or any other smells . My doctor gave me antibiotics in case of a sinus infection but has had no impact on the symptoms . Thank you

Your suffering from parosmia, anosmia for few odors commonly due to cold, sinusitis or rhinitis or allergies etc.

Parkinsonism, brain tumors, head injuries may also present like this.

You may need endoscopic examination of nasal cavity, MRI brain, blood investigation for diabetes and thyroid etc.

Please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
