How Can Low Folic Acid Levels Be Treated?

Hi! Yes and thank you in advance for your help. I had a blood test that found me to be high in homocysteine and low in folic acid. But I see that folic acid and B6 and B12 are used to treat this high level. This sample has to be put on ice immediately otherwise you will get a false reading. Is this correct?

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hello, my name is Dr Olgeta Xhufka. I understand your concern. If you have folic acid deficiency the only way to cure it is taking folic acid tablets orally and vitamine c to ease absorption of it. There us nothing wrong with taking B6 and B12 too.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help you. Best regards.
