How Can Low Iron Levels In Blood Be Treated?

i m trying to give plasma, but they say my iron levels are too low. they told me they were at 35... how long is it going to take me taking iron supplements before my iron levels are back to normal? I ve already been tested for anemia and i dont have it.... ??

Hello,

i can understand your concern. Normal serum levels of iron is around 65 to 176 µg/dL, so your levels are some what low.
Anemia might still not be present in some cases right now, but would be present eventually.
You will have to take iron tablets like Orofer XT or Dexorange for a duration of 3 months. Then you can get your serum iron levels checked once again.
Along with serum iron, i would suggest you to get Total iron binding capacity, transferrin saturation and serum ferritin levels too.
