Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Now the platelet count of your son is normal it will improve automatically with the time. But now he has upper respiratory tract infection and breathless. You should consult a physician whether his chest is clear or he has caught pneumonia. Please mention the color of mucus to know type of infection. And also does he has wet cough? High grade fever with wet cough with crepitations (abnormal sound in lungs) goes towards pneumonia. If he has only dry cough and mucus is clear and present only in nose then it is upper respiratory infection. Please consult a pediatric doctor if he is less than 12 yr or medicine specialist if his age is more than 12. Antibiotics and Cetirizine at bed time. And warm salt water gargle 4 times a day will help him.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
