How Can Lower Backache Be Treated?
I have been at same job over 35 years....lots of heavy lifting ( 80 # and more ) and on feet all day, walking over 5 miles. My lower back is becoming an issue. Really becoming noticable in last 10 years. I am very active.....volleyball and golf all week long for exercise. If I take 800mg or more ibuprophin i can knock the pain to liveable.....but not a fan of taking medication. The pain will totally numb my left leg.....usually stopping at the knee. I have found the more active I am am...the less the pain can be. If I sit around or take day off from fun it really hurts. I am looking for help besides surgery.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and plan for an MRI scan.
