How Can Lung Congestion While Using A CPAP Machine Be Treated?

I use a CPAP & gave since 1999. However, last year the tech who monitored my second sleep study increased my pressure from 9 to 13. Ever since the increase it feels like the CPAP is pushing mucus down into my lungs from my sinuses and I wake up coughing every morning to get it out. It s so bad sometimes it makes me choke and Puke because the mucus gets stuck in my esophageal flap. What can I do to get rid of this mucus? I ve tried Mucinex but it only helps marginally.

Consult a pulmonologist and get evaluated. You might require antibiotic treatment to prevent further complications.

Take care
