How Can Lymphedema In The Legs Be Treated?

Been diagnosed with Lymphedema. Legs badly swollen. Bought a pair of compression panty hose and have thigh highs. Can t get them on as my arms and shoulders are compromised. I have had both knees replaced, had frostbite as a 9th grader (I m 68 yrs. now) I was put on water pills but nothing seems to be helping. I live in Montana and outside is about 3 ft. deep snow on the level. ?????

First of all continue using the water pills.
Some other suggrstions that I can give to you are:
-Exercises. Light exercises in which you move your affected limb may encourage lymph fluid drainage and help prepare you for everyday tasks.
-Massage the area.
-Use compression garments.
