How Can Major Depressive Disorder Be Treated?

Having a diagnosis of Major depressive disorder, I have been doing well on 150 mg, once daily (although I read directions incorrectly. Dose should have been XR 300. My son died, recently of DVT. Naturally depressed. Recently --1-2 months ago I began an episodic recurrence of MDD. Today, I checked dosage and discovered 150 mg X3 once daily. WOW! i immediately took 2 additional 150 s --no titration! Any danger?

Hi,

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that you may be at risk to experience some adverse effects like hot flashes, diarrhea, etc.

Anyway, there is no reason to panic. I would just recommend taking plenty of water and closely monitor your heart rate and blood pressure values. It is important to increase gradually the dose up to the desired dose, in order to avoid possible adverse effects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
