How Can Muscle Inflammation Be Treated?

My wife took prescriptions after having stents put in Dr. said to stop having one again, She does not do well on prescriptions she did o.k. for 3 month then in Feb. her Dr. wrote out prescription for Prednisone 8 tables then she end up not able to lift her head off pillow then when to hospital for two weeks and then they let her out no better. Any other treatment instead of prednisone to get rid inflamed muscle?
