How Can Musculoskeletal Pain Be Treated?

My ER doctor told that I can take 2 tablets if one is not helping my pain. Do I need to wait 12 hours before taking the next dosage of 2? This medicine only takes the edge off my pain. It does not remove it. He said my pain is muscular skeptical.

Hi, thanks for your question. To better answer your query, would you be able to provide details of the medication like it’s name and the recommended dose.

At this stage, it is hard for me to give you any specific advice on the medication you are on. However, you can take paracetamol which is a very effective pain killer with a good safety profile. For musculoskeletal pain, you can also try therapeutic massage, heat and cold, acupuncture, stretching exercise, relaxation etc.

Generally, medications for pain are prescribed in a dose-response manner. Patients are advised to stick to the lowest effective dose of the drug to avoid any side effects or dependence.

Hope this helps. And please feel free to ask for any further clarification.
