How Can Nausea And Vomiting Be Treated?

I did the dehydration test and I am dehydrated. I have extreme nausea and vomited twice. (The few crackers I ate to try and help my nausea. Second was the little bit of liquid I tried drinking and dry heaves). I have had nausea all day and started the vomiting an hour ago. I can t drink anything because of my extreme nausea. Also, don t know if this is important but I am a Bariatric patient. Should I go to the emergency room?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, yes consulting an ER room is a right approach and you may need to have intravenous fluids replacement specially with ringer lactate and injectable antiemetic like dimenhydrinate etc. Using antacids like omperazole and Motility agents like domperidone can also be used. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
