How Can Neck Pain With Cracking Be Treated?

My daughter is 12 hrs old and very involved in sports. For the past two years she has been cracking her neck often. We were told bt a pediatric orthopedic that it was just a habit. For the past six months the cracking has progressed; the pain in her neck is causing her to crack almost constantly. She even cracks her neck in her sleep!
