How Can Nerve Damage In The Ear Be Treated?

I have been diagnosed with sudden nerve damage in one ear... back in June I fell and fractured my right shoulder and hit my head.. seeing my sudden deafness is on my right side as well.. could the fall contributed to this condition.. I just got a steroid inj and on prednisone hoping my hearing will come back.. it s been 72 hours to no avail. Thank you for your answer.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I guess the deafness is due to swallowed head and ear and I think when the edema is resolved you may have you hearing back. I think you should consult an audiologist and a neurologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
