How Can Numbness In The Lips And Fingers Be Treated?
Husband having TIA symptoms and has had a work up but nothing shows up. Sometime light symptoms such as numbness in lip/tongue, left pointer finger goes numb, other times much more severe with added dizzyness, so he almost falls, left arm heavy plus the above problems added.. All we are told is if they don t get worse, just rest. They added plavix and statin drug even when his numbers are not high. What else can we do?
Understanding your concern. The symptoms you describe in your query are pointing towards nerve impairment . But symptoms can also occur due to allergic reaction or side effect of certain medicine. In case of facial injury the common symptoms are numbness of respective parts . I would suggest you to consult oral surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe medicines to reduce inflammation , steroids ,and anti convulsant drugs . Doctor may also perform surgery to treat fracture and release compression. Doctor may also refer you to neurologist. For now you should start physical therapy and eat carefully .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
