How Can Numbness On The Finger Tips Be Treated?

I have had carpal tunnel for over 20 years last 2 weeks my first 3 fingers are numb on the tips and down the sides this happened after awakening one night with the worst pain in my hands I have ever had like a truck was parked on them I have dealt and managed the carpal tunnel have had no pains like this now lost feeling in my hands it as very bad for 4 days or so barely do anything with my hands because my fingers were totally numb felt like someone else’s hands on my body and this is both hands same symptoms is surgery my only option
