Hi,
Ca-125 or carcinoma antigen 125 is a tumor marker produced by non mucinous epithelial tumors of ovary.
Its normal levels vary from 0-35 units.
Its level increases with presence of tumor and decreases or becomes absent with complete cure of ovarian tumor.
A precipitous fall in CA-125 after two courses of chemotherapy is an good predictor of a complete response to chemotherapy and a good prognostic sign.
It can be used for posttreatment surveillance of patients with ovarian cancer. After treatment, a delayed rise in CA-125 level is an early predictor of recurrent tumor.
Keep watching for any raise in levels.
For levels 20, if a second look laprotomy is done now, chances of finding a tumor is only 56%.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
