How Can Onycholysis Of The Toenail Be Treated?

Yes, please. My big toe nails are detaching from the skin in one corner. What is the best thing to do for this? I have trimmed the nail very close to detachment, so as to put oils or Vicks their, but mostly to clean it out real well. Is this detachment indicative of something much bigger or just bad luck, so to speak?
