Hi,

As unable to deduce your age, thus I at most can let you know about the preventive aspect of Osteoporosis:

i. As it is the beginning of the condition thus fits under Primary Osteoporosis: Senile Osteoporosis
ii. Preventive Aspect:
- Calcium intake; 1.0-1.5 g per day [banana, grapes, coriander, raisins, milk, green vegetables, lemon, mint, papaya, amla, guava, pineapple, turnip, tomato, apple, orange.
- Moderate Vitamin D intake: 400-800 IU per day or Calcitriol [carrot, beetroot, spinach, radish, mint, Amalaki rasayan, soybean, cucumber, cabbage, vitamin D fortified: pineapple/yogurt/milk/dry mushroom/banana/ cod liver oil/sunshine].

Periodic assessment of skeletal status and bone mineral. Single drug which is extremely helpful and beneficial in postmenopausal/senile osteoporosis is 'Shatavari' which can be explained with the help of its active chemical constituent.

Steroidal Saponins which are Phytoestrogens. Phytoestrogens act as SERM's [selective estrogen receptors modulators] and stimulate osteoblastosis and suppress osteoclastosis and thus help in preventing bone loss.

PS. In modern medicine they also have SERM's [raloxifene, idoxifene, tamoxifene], the action is similar as described.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
