How Can Pain And Inflammation Around An Injection Site Be Treated?

I got a pneumococcal booster on Wed. I m having a reaction to it. I have a small bruise at the injection site [ barely felt the actual shot ]. I also have a fairly large area that is very sore & red. Doesn t seem to be getting better. I m taking ibuprofen to help with inflammation, but wonder if heat or cold compress would YYYY@YYYY

hello,
i can understand your concern. inflammation around vaccine site is a common site and it usually goes in a week or so.
continue using ibuprofen for pain reduction for a couple of days. applying cold compresses would help.
if the area appears infected like having pus or if you have fever that is not coming down, consult your doctor and a course of antibiotics would be advised.
rest assires this is a normal thin post vacination.
