Hello,

Kindly get your x-ray knee done. Usually, MRI is better to know soft tissue injury. if there is tear in the meniscus of the knee ligaments like ACL or PCL then usually you will have that popping sensation.

If the tear is minor then it will heal on its own. If it is major then it needs to be fixed with surgery. For now, you can take some painkillers to reduce the pain such as Diclofenac, tramadol, pethidine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
