Hey, a few months ago I missed a step and landed on the corner of the next step. The corner of the step was centered in the arch of my right foot. I felt like maybe a bone popped , but it could be that I heard it as much as felt it. My foot was tender, off and on, for the rest of that day, to the extent that I had my supervisor fill out an incident report, just in case. The past 3 weeks my arch has been more tender, achy, and at times has caused a slight limp. I played tennis with my daughter two days ago and, while I was mobile, I felt the arch issue continually. That night and into the early morning hours, when I was up, as a 57-year old may often be, I found it amusingly difficult to walk down the hall. My work boots seemed to offer considerable support, and by mid-morning it was relatively benign. I told my supervisor today that we need to have it checked. Playing tennis again tonight, there was a ball hit up near the net, and when I realized I would have to hurry, I planted the ball of my right foot, much like a sprinter, and as I accelerated my 73 , 220 pound frame forward, it felt like a pile of boulders gave way inside my foot. OUCH! I went down, in the midst of a good deal of pain (7 out of 10), and after about 3-5 minutes felt like I could put my shoe back on (no swelling and no deformation), and walk back to the car. NOT happening. When I weight my foot, too much pain from below my ankle, on the distal side, kept me from being able to walk on it. Most attempts to rotate, pronate and supinate result in little discomfort, but when I rotate the foot to the outside of my leg the pain below the ankle stops me. Additionally, the entire surface of my foot feels like your arm feels when you wake up at night to find you have been sleeping on it. Kind of numb and tingly. What do you guys think? What do you think, beyond of course going to the doctor tomorrow and having him x-ray it...
