How Can Pain And Stiffness In The Fingers Be Treated?

I plplay flag football and I was going to pull a girls flag and I jammed the tip of my finger. It hurts really bad, but I went back out and I played it again and I pulled another girl s flag and I heard a cracking noise in my finger. My finger started to swell ans bruise. When I got home my dad put a splint on me and my finger started throbbing and then I took it off and my finger is swelled and bruised just the tip of it though the rest of it s completely fine I can move it but I can t move the tip of my finger anymore it s extremely stiff.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per your description, it seems like you have a broken finger. Consult an orthopaedician and get an MRI scan to look for fracture or ligament injury.

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

You can apply ice packs over the affected finger.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
