How Can Pain And Swelling In The Ankle Be Treated?

Hi I have recently fallen on my ankle and it really hurts. It has turned kind of purple and swelled up. The swelling has not gone down. When I touch the bone it is very tender and hurts. I can still walk but I feel a lot of pain when I walk or stand. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It may be a minor contusion.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Ibuprofen or Tramadol for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
