How Can Pain And Swelling In The Little Toe Be Treated?
I know i broke my little toe, but the top and underside of my foot in the same area is a bit swollen and hurts when I walk. What are the symptoms of something else being broken in my foot? The black and blue of my toe is gone now, but the toe and surrounding still hurts when I put shoes on. This has been 3 weeks now.

Hi, Thanks for the wuery. I undrstand your concern. Trauma to little toe of foot... being paiful while walking & swollen since last 21 days. Possible sprain or hair line fracture of the bones of little toe... it could be denoted by x ray scan.even if a fracture... it must have started forming calus &would take 1.5 months for healing. A sprain with ligament injury would take longer to heal.... as foot is a weight bearing organ... healing would be prolonged.... &pain ,mild swelling would continue for few weeks after healing also. -Use cold/hot packs for relieving swelling. -light crape bandage would support the injured part. -Use of shoes with laces would offer good support to foot as well as lessen pain.- -Usually anti inglammatory non steroidal agents are given locally along with chymoral forte, calcium &vitamin D suppliments. Thanks.
