How Can Pain And Tingling In The Right Arm And Thumb Be Treated?
I am 39 years old and about 2 days ago I started having pain, weakness, tingling, in my right arm only. Today, I started having additional pain, tingling, and numbness in my thumb of the same hand. It keeps me from sleeping at night. Only thing that seems to help a little is when I stretch out my arm.
Tingling sensation, numbness and pain in the arm can be caused by a number of things. Nerve compression due to direct injury or entrapment at the level of your right shoulder can cause this. All the nerves of your right arm pass from your spine of neck to the arm through small passages at the junction of your neck and shoulder. Any trauma or compression at this point or the neck itself can cause your symptoms.
There are other things which can also cause this. Diseases like high blood pressure and diabetes cause nerve damage and similar symptoms.
Having panicked you enough, this could only be a dietary deficieny of calcium, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12.
So, here is the plan: Get your blood pressure and blood sugar levels checked, start vitamin B6, B12 and calcium supplements and try resting your arm.
Sorry for panicking you, have any more questions feel free to contact me. Regards n have a nice day.
