How Can Pain From The Hips To The Toes Be Treated?

My leg hurts. It feels like a shooting pain from my hip to my toes. My heel is numb, it’s painful to move my toes, and my knee aches. I took 2 aleve 2 hours ago but I still hurt. It hard to put weight on the leg I can feel my muscles giving way. Should I go to the emergency room or make a doctors appointment? Should I ignore this and go about my normal day as best as I can. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Shooting pain and numbness, usually imply that a nerve in the area is not working as it should.
This is called neuropathy.

If you have a previous history of neuropathy and you have experienced these symptoms before then you can monitor but if you have not previous history or there is a recent history of trauma or you have a change in bowel or bladder control- then you should be seen

I hope this helps
