Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have done something to my lower back that is making it difficult to walk, stand and sit. I think I did an exercise incorrectly yesterday at the gym. How do I treat this at home? What exercises do I do or avoid? Are there any medications I can take to reduce the pain? Can my dr. (GP or orthopedist) do enough to warrant a visit.
Pain in lower back especially caused during gym session needs rest for a few days and avoid going to the gym or doing any exercise till the recovery.
For the pain relief ibuprofen can help as well as pain relieving ointments or sprays also benefit. If the pain persists even after taking proper rest and pain killers then I would suggest you visit your doctor. After careful inspection he might advice you some imaging tests for details regarding the injury so that appropriate management can be done for faster recovery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
