How Can Pain In The Right Hip And Thigh Be Treated?
I have pain in my right hip and thigh. it hurts really bad when I sit down or going up some steps. I cannot lay on my right side. I have degenerative disk disease in my lower back. The pain just started yesterday morning. Could it be a nerve and if so what can i do to relieve the pain?
Since you have confirmed degenerative disc disease if the lower back, and pain has started only yesterday with the other discomforts you have described; it is best that you rest your back, by avoiding lifting any heavy objects, using a firm mattress to sleep on, sit with your back resting on the back rest of the chair, remain stress free. You can also do short wave diathermy treatment on the area daily for about 10 days or so. Hence the pain and discomfort would resolve. Once this happens, you may please do spinal flexibility exercises and yoga is one of the best and you would have to get trained by an expert. This should give you long term results. If required, later if pain does occur and causes marked discomfort, you may have to undergo surgery. In such case you would have to consult an Orthopedic surgeon.
