How Can Pain In The Toe Be Treated?

I scraped the side of my foot and soaked it in epson salt and my big toe went into so much pain i almost pasted out. Abrasion in not on toe. Why did this happened? I noticed my toe was sore but does not appear bruiesed just hurts. Does this indicate a fracture or something??
