How Can Pain In The Tonsils Be Treated?

I am Mrs. Sankharupa 36,Khardah suffering from Tonsil gland pain( left side) from 24th.morning.From yesterday night I have started consuming med AZITHRO*500.(1 tab).Will u advise me pl 1. How to be done contact with u today at yr chamber nearest to Khardah by appointment ? 2.As I don t feel any improvement by Azithhro till this morning after consuming only one tab shall I continue for rest 2 tabs ? Thanking you.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

It looks like you are suffering from Tonsillitis that can be due to bacterial or viral throat infection..
As you have just taken a single dose of Azithromycin, it cannot completely relieve the symptoms, so it is advisable to take the course of antibiotics for atleast 5 days along with anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
You should also start doing warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day and antiseptic mouthwash gargles..
You should suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

If still there is no improvement consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..
