How Can Pain In The Upper Back On The Left Side Be Treated?

After lifting weights last week, I had pain in my upper left back and has worsened and extends to chest. To be clear...its trap/chest on left side with a lot of popping/cracking when I push shoulders back..and hurts to take really deep breath(minimal to moderate)

hello!!
Dear,Thanks for referring to HCM !!

I completely understand your concern and your pain which has effected you.

*The pain you are experiencing is certinly due to exertion to your muscles.
This will reduce slowly provided you give rest to your arm.

* Take analgesics like paracetamol after taking a prescription.

* Next time you do heavy lifts only after warming up your muscles with streching exercises. Make sure you drink large quantities of water pre and post workout. This will greatly reduce the pain from lifts.

If the pain does not subside even after taking analgesics, then you need to get thoroughly examined to know the exact cause of pain.

You shall be fine sir/madam.

Hope i have helped you. TC
thanks.
with Best regards
