How Can Pain In The Upper Left Arm Be Treated?

I have a lot of pain in my upper left arm and am no longer to work out arms and shoulder. It s a bit swollen at the top of my arm and a massage therapist said there was a knot in muscle. I ve had this pain for about 3 months and cannot sleep on my left side because of it.

hi sir/mam,your symptoms seem to be related to rotator cuff injury/disease.the following are the possible causes:
1)rotator cuff(shoulder region muscles)tear
2)brachial plexus neuritis.
3)biceps tendonitis
4)cervical spondylosis
5)shoulder sprain or strain
6)trauma
7)idiopathic frozen shoulder
conservative treatment includes the following:
1)analgesics for pain relief like NSAIDs(ibuprofen,aceclofenac)
2)physical therapy includes ultrasound pulse therapy,heat therapy may be effective in pain relief.
3)intra articular corticosteroid injection.
an X-RAY of shoulder joint would help us to arrive at an appropriate diagnosis.a thorough examination by an orthopedician is necessary for timely and accurate treatment.hope my explanation satisfies you and relieves your anxiety.any further doubts are always entertained.wish the new year 2018 brings tons and tons of happiness,wealth and a sound health to you and your near and dear.thank you.take care.bye.
