How Can Painful Bruises On The Shoulder Blade Be Treated?
Hello. Im Tiffany and im a FedEx driver.2 days ago a box fell and hit me in the eyebrow area. Now i have 3 big bruises on my shoulder blade/ back it s sore esp when I sit up, in a certain position, or lay down and driving. Then last night trying to work it out hoping to relieve the pressure because thats what it feel like, my spine had got thr same pressure for like 30 seconds. I don t remember any falls or any box besides that one falling on me.(plus I do not think its realted but could be) Could it be from the strain of picking up heavy boxes.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, lifting heavy boxes can cause these kind of pains. The box which fell on your head (eyebrows) can also cause indirect straining at back and shoulder muscles. So in my opinion, you should follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
2. Sit with proper back support. Avoid sudden jerky movements of back and shoulder.
3. Apply ice packs on back and shoulder.
4. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs like ibuprofen and thiocolchicoside.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
