How Can Painful Bumps On The Legs And Arms Be Treated?

Open sores on legs and arms for past several months. Some very slow to heal. About a dozen locations in total. Take no meds....healthy as far as I know except this. Sores start out as small red bumps and a few have become quarter inch. I have been using triple ointment. Seems to work on some but several have not healed.
