How Can Painful Bursitis On The Right Shoulder Be Treated?

I work as a care giver, I also have bursitis in my right shoulder. For about the last 4 months I have been experiencing constant pain in it. If I reach behind me or over my head putting things away like dishes I get a stabbing pain that goes down my arm some times I feel it in my hand. It use to hurt when the weather changed but know it hurts all the time. And it is at the joint it hurts the worst.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Some advices that I can give to you are:

Use anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day. Physical therapy and ice compresses are also very important and can help. If the symptoms continue steroid shots may be needed, so I recommend seeing an orthopedist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
