Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a really painful heel.it started three weeks ago after walking along a road for two miles in trainers (slip on not laced). It is painful when I get up in the morning. It improves during the day wearing Mary Jane shoes with a small heel but hurts again in the evening.ive taken ibuprofen which has helped.today I walked 2 miles in a mule with a 5cm heel.so painful I had to put on an ice pack
It is possible that you have plantar fasciitis which is inflammation of the plantar fascia of the foot. It can cause severe pain of the heel.
Treatment would involve: (1) exercises for plantar fasciitis, these are available online (2)staying off the foot as much as possible (3)pain medication such as ibuprofen or naproxen (4)may need to wear shoes with special padding for a while
I hope this helps
