How Can Painful Hemorrhoids Be Treated?

I have external and internal hemorrhoids, however, i seem to also have a very small bump, just on the outside of my anus that hurts terribly and does not react like my regular hemorrhoids at all. It hurts no matter what i am doing, whether I am leaning on it, standing or sitting. Bowel movements have no effect on it, so I know it s not a fissure. I will have an appoint with a cold-rectal doctor, but it s not for weeks, and in the meantime, I wish I knew something I could do for the pain. I even took a narcotic pain med, and it did absolutely nothing. (I take them very, very rarely for migraines.) Do you have any idea what it could be, and is there anything I can do, superficially, to alleviate my pain until my appointment?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

For pain you can apply cream or a suppository containing hydrocortisone or lidocaine. Use pads that have numbing agent or hazel, use ice packs to relieve swelling. However, sitz bath works the best. Take sitz bath at least 3 times a day for 15 minutes, it will help. Drink plenty of water, keep yourself well hydrated. At bedtime take 1-2 tabs laxative with milk regularly. Aloe Vera & apple cider work well. Take fiber in your daily diet. Take oral pain killers like acetaminophen (Tylenol) or Ibuprofen (Advil) when you have pain. Take care of your hygiene.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
