How Can Painful Skin Rashes On The Face Be Treated?

I was perscribed Vitamin D3 5,000 unit softgelsales to be taken daily. TO MY knowledge I have never been deficient. I have taken this supplement for 3 to 4 years now ando have had quite a few weird symptoms, I think is being caused by prolonged excessive D3 supplements my doctor perscribed me because I live in Oregon and don the get enough sun. I have been having side effects(?) for almost 1 year now. Right now I am battling painful gritty, Sand-like calcium deposits on my face exiting my skin. I can hear it crunch- it is painful, causing scarring, and there seems to be an endless amount, and it is driving me crazy!! Please help?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Because of extra calcium deposition and intake of vitamin D, which is fat soluble. Please stop taking vitamin D3 supplements. Vitamin D can be obtained from natural sunlight. Take dermatologist opinion also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
