How Can Painful Tennis Elbow Be Treated?

For the last few months I ve noticed minor pain from tennis elbow and more recently what seems to be a rotator cuff isssue. A few years ago, I had my rotator cuff looked by an orthopedic dr who reviewed my MRI. I had 5-7 mm tear and I chose to rehab instead of surgery. I ve had no problems, since. But this past month and today specifically I feel a burning pain in my shoulder. I played 18 holes of tournament golf and felt like I suddenly have arthritis in my right shoulder. Last week I played in a tournament came in first and felt no pain. I m calling my D.O. tomorrow and will ask for another MRI. It seems to have come on suddenly and would love to think it will go away on its own. Does this course of action sound sensible? And, is it likely the rotator cuff? Thank you. Jan

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This might be a provisory neuromusculary pain that can improve within some days taking NSAIDS, but more likely is from the rotator cuff since you have had previous problems of it.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
